Martyn Joseph is a performer like no other: Shades of Springsteen, John Mayer, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews there may be - but he stands in his own right, built on a reputation for giving what thousands have described as the best live music experience of their lives delivering his "songs of lyrical intelligence" according to BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris.

Cancelled shows

So Joan became ill the day after the Warwick show and had to cancel the next two shows. These have now been re-scheduled for this coming weekend. I was a bit disappointed as there was an important ice hockey game I was hoping to attend on Sunday but I will have to be in Reading..never mind. Meanwhile we have played Kings Lynn ( 8 hours in the car that day!), Leicester, two nights at Ronnie Scotts and Guildford. The tour went to Ireland this week but I’m not doing those shows

Ronnie Scotts was of course very different to the other shows with the nightclub atmosphere and general noise while I played. They were good gigs though and I enjoyed the challenge. I will always remember opening for Belinda Carlisle there and overheard a punter remark ( about Belinda) that ‘that women is singing that Belinda Carlisle song’! Now that’s ignorance for you! Also I must mention Roy, the CMP rep, who on Sat night had a dream he was walking around naked in a hotel only to wake up on the morning starkers in his hotel corridor!! Now that’s rock n roll! I have been using this week to finish putting together the ‘best of album’. More to follow.
